Focus on Pewsey

The village of Pewsey lies in the Vale of Pewsey, approximately 6 miles south of Marlborough and within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. At the centre of the village there is a statue of the Anglo Saxon King Alfred who owned the area as a royal estate in the late 9th century.

Why live in Pewsey? This popular village has pretty much everything you would expect of a popular village. There are plenty of amenities including a post office, bakery, petrol station, sports centre, a Co-op supermarket and a main line station in to London Paddington. The village benefits from a great local community spirit and as such there are several independent shops, restaurants and pubs. Most notably the village also has a hugely popular carnival every year.

The wonderful surrounding countryside also offers plenty of opportunities for exploration whether visiting local ancient monuments, or walking in the Pewseys dows, there really is something for everyone.
