February 2021 - the market, the spring market to come and a light at the end of the covid tunnel?

Date Published 16 February 2021

The market around Marlborough continues at pace, with buyers continuing to register and bids being put forward and agreed. As lockdown continues we are still restricting viewings to proceedable buyers and ensuring safe procedures are followed. We are also working from home where possible and using the office as a hub if necessary between appointments.

As we are lucky enough to be able to continue working, we are also happy to offer assistance to anyone in our local area who may not want to venture out, do contact us if we may be able to help - you don't have to be a client, if we are passing your door on the way to viewings etc we are happy to pick things up from shops etc and drop them off to help our local community and neighbours.

Some recent trends we have seen include buyers looking for more rural properties with more space around them - a result of covid and the possibilities of working from home? Buyers are also widening their search area as there aren't enough houses coming to the market to meet demand.

While local searches may prevent buyers agreeing sales now from completing in time for the end of the stamp duty holiday coming to an end on 31 March, there are still a great number of buyers registering to view what we currently have for sale, but also registering to go on our database to make sure they are contacted first for when that elusive property does come up. We consequently have a large mailing list of active and waiting buyers - do contact us if you are thinking of selling - we can carry out market appraisals in person, by looking at plans and details on line or can discuss marketing over the phone to suit your needs.

It is fantastic to hear of the milestones being achieved in the vaccine roll out - a real light at the end of the tunnel, and as the weather warms up too we can hopefully look forward to 2021 and beyond.
