Market and COVID-19 Update - November 2020

Date Published 06 November 2020

As the second lockdown commences our thoughts are with those around us that are unable to carry on with their businesses as normal - we are lucky in Marlborough to have some great local independent shops, but the overnight change in activity in the High Street is quite stark, we hope that lockdown will end as planned and that normal life will return as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, the housing market continues, buoyed by demand for changes in lifestyle, a wish to move on, or taking advantage of the temporary change in stamp duty. We continue to serve our clients while adhering to government advice and guidance - viewings are typically only being carried out where the viewer has nothing to sell or has their house under offer with a complete chain, the numbers of people attending each viewing are limited, vendors will not be present and all viewers are required to wear masks and not touch anything while visiting.

With new properties continuing to come to the market all the time, sales continue apace with quick results achieved - typically from hot buyers already registered with us. At present we see this continuing at least through November and in to December when the market generally slows as peoples thoughts turn to Christmas. If you are thinking of selling in the near future our advice is still to come to the market as soon as possible.

If you would like up to date advice on your property, your plans and the market, please do call or email us, we would be delighted to assist you and can still offer home visits, or are equally happy to discuss your plans over the phone.
